Lap of Luxury.

Luxury, especially when associated with old money, is usually reserved for white individuals. Historically, most Black people did not have access to jobs that provided the substantial wealth we now see in places like the Upper East Side. I wanted to envision a world where Black people did have that access — a world where there is no racial wealth gap. I want people who see this shoot to be able to better visualize what black people living in luxury looks like: mansion, preppy outfits, and all.

A Natural Embrace.

Growing up, as a black girl, I was never confident in my natural attributes. Because of this, I wanted to do a shoot that showcased women of color in all their natural glory — joyful, proud, and beautiful. A Natural Embrace is meant to show the beauty a natural black woman holds, despite what Western society may tell us.

Darkness Becomes Them.

This shoot surrounds the story of two women with an unbreakable bond on a night out at the bar. They are intense, dark, ruthless, powerful and mysterious - yet the pair is full of dimension, with the shoot showcasing that while intimidating, the women are also sophisticated. Despite their beauty, these women hold as much, if not more power, than the men of their world - making a pair you don't want to cross. They are the women you want to be, but also the ones you are afraid of.
